Hello, travelers! Finally after a while of doing this and that, we have our blog up! Maybe it’s a bit late, but better late than never, right? We’ve always wanted to make this blog happen, but let’s just say a thing or two came up as challenges.
But here we are, with some of our stories. Yes, it’s still just a few stories, but we’re trying hard to keep up with the posts because we still got a lot of stories from different places. That’s why we need supports from you guys.
We’re still new to this blogging things, so excuse us for being a bit slow, because we still got a lot of things to learn. What a challenge. Anyway, you guys might wonder who we are. Here’s a short bio of us.
Hi! Call me Leo. I am passionate about traveling and taking photos. I wouldn’t call myself a photographer. Maybe an enthusiast is better for me. Street photography enthusiast (this is my fave!), travel enthusiast, blogging enthusiast.
I studied finance and get my bachelor degree in 2010. Currently doing a freelance business in visuals (such as graphic, branding, photos) and printing. Born and living in Jakarta, Indonesia. Check out my other personal sites, monochromecover.com and travelthestories.com
I’m Steffia, a traveler who can’t wait to hit the road again. Traveling stirred me, same like taking beautiful pictures do. Currently staying in Jakarta, Indonesia where I was born. Working as a ticketing member of Flight Centre Travel Group. Keep exploring, you never know where it might lead you!
Why Wandering Dejavu?
Every name must have a meaning or reason why someone picks it in the first place, right? So as everybody does, we do give it some thought. But we’re really inspired by this word ;
Dejavu — some feeling about something that is currently being experienced, has already been experienced in the past
or we’ve read it somewhere,
A glimpse of the future
or our favorite,
The future that is projected into now…
What we like is that it describing moments, the past – now – future, all connected through feelings, memories, and experiences. Imagine it like this, if we want to go to new places, we’re projecting ourselves present at that new place.
We bring the feeling to now, what we’re gonna see, what we’re gonna eat, what we’re gonna walk through, just having those imaginations surely will make you like “I’m going now…. Where’s my bag…?” Haha!
It’s just our personal experience with that word “Dejavu”. So we’re ended up using it. As for the wandering like “going places…“, wanderlust feel. Of course, you know what wanderlust is, it’s in our blood, isn’t it?
How do we get started?
It was in the middle of 2015, where we kinda get into some random talk about going places and stuff. The next thing we know, that we agreed on going together on our first trip to Vietnam (before we’re going together, we’re just going separately).
And from that trip, comes another trips, and there will be more in the future. Which in late 2015, we decided to try travel blogging and our first free blog exists! But after a couple months of learning, we decided to move our site to a self-hosted site for a better purpose.
It took quite a while for a nonfull-time like us since we still got works to take care of. So with this new site up, we feel enthusiast to sharing our experience with fellow travelers globally.
There will be more stories coming up, we’re still working on it, bear with us. And that’s very much about us, still looking for more adventures.
